About The Position

Amentum, a global leader in critical mission support, engineering, technology, and national security solutions, is seeking a Tractor-Trailer Truck Driver to support a government contract based in Kings Bay, Georgia. This role involves driving gasoline or diesel-powered tractor-trailer combinations to transport and deliver products or materials. The driver will apply knowledge of commercial driving regulations and maneuvering skills in various conditions, inspect the truck for defects before and after trips, maintain driver logs according to I.C.C. regulations, and may assist with loading and unloading. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years safe tractor-trailer driving record.
  • Minimum of a Class "B" CDL required and be able to obtain government driver's license for size and type vehicles required including forklifts and mechanic lifting devices.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a proficient operation of a tractor-trailer.
  • Must be familiar with procedures for proper tie-down and securing of large equipment.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license.
  • Must have and wear hard-toed ankle-height safety shoes which meet ASTM F2413-05 standards.
  • Successful candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must continually meet eligibility requirements for access to all areas of Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
  • US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

Responsibilities

  • Drives gasoline or diesel-powered tractor-trailer combination to transport and deliver products or materials in liquid, loose, or packaged form.
  • Drives truck to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle in difficult situations such as in narrow passageways.
  • Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.
  • Maintains driver log according to I.C.C. regulations.
  • May assist workers in loading and unloading truck.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
