About The Position

The Tractor / Trailer Technician is responsible for the company’s performance in terms of efficient and effective and timely repairs and maintenance on the Transport fleet. The Technician is expected to be a team player in the Maintenance Department. They must be able to diagnose and repair recurring problems and effectively communicate these to other members of the Maintenance Team.

Requirements

Valid Driver's License.
Experience in using computers to enter work orders.
Good communication skills with a professional attitude.
Able to stand and walk on level and uneven surfaces, twist, bend, push, pull, crouch, climb stairs, bend and crawl, grasp, drag, lift and carry items weighing 50 lbs or less.
Previous experience with all types and makes of tractors and trailers heavy-duty diesel trucks.
May work above shoulder level with power and /or hand tools weighing 15 pounds or less and in confined spaces.

Nice To Haves

One year certificate from college or technical school is an asset; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Performing preventative maintenance on all equipment in the fleet.
Diagnosing problems found during inspections and prescribing remedial action.
Performing repairs that are diagnosed during pre/post trip or quick check inspections and preventative maintenance.
Entering work orders.
Shop cleaning.
Attending team meetings.
Performing other miscellaneous repairs on Transport equipment.
