We are looking for a Tractor/Trailer Mechanic to help us meet production and quality goals. As a Trex Tractor/Trailer Mechanic you will safely perform mechanical repairs on Trex’s fleet and trailer equipment, ensuring all vehicles are in proper working condition and meet safety standards. Requirements
- Tractor / Trailer - Mechanic
- High school diploma or equivalent
Nice To Haves
- Class A CDL License - (must have active licensure)
- Wheel End and Air Brake Certification
- Ability to perform Federal DOT Inspections
- Knowledge of DDE and Cummins software
- Experience as a Field or Diesel Mechanic
- Welding skills
Responsibilities
- Put safety first - always
- Work as a team to drive our “people first” culture
- Perform scheduled services, as needed, in conjunction with our established service schedules.
- Ensure fleet and trailers are safe and operational
- Perform Federal DOT inspections for all equipment as required by law
- Maintain accurate paperwork and work orders for all equipment
- Perform mechanical repairs on Trex’s fleet
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Perform basic welding
- Knowledge and maintenance of walking floor systems
- Perform on-road repairs within a defined radius
- Perform mechanical repairs on trailers including walking floor bulk trailers, flatbeds, vans, containers, and pneumatic bulk tankers
- Maintain documentation including DOT reports, repair history, license plate expirations, etc.
- Collaborate with Fleet Supervisor, Coordinators, and team members
- Perform additional duties as assigned
