About The Position

This position is for our Honsador Lumber - Kailua-Kona location. The Tractor Trailer Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently driving a truck with a capacity of more than 3 tons to transport materials to and from specified destinations. This role involves delivering and off-loading materials, collecting payments, maintaining truck logs, and performing basic vehicle inspections and maintenance.

Requirements

Must have valid Hawaii CDL Class A License, clean traffic abstract, and current Medical Exam Certificate (MEC)
Detail Oriented, communication skills and basic math skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to work overtime as needed.
Previous CDL A driving experience.
Meets all federal and state driver's license regulations.
Must have a Commercial Driver License (CDL).

Responsibilities

Drives truck to destination in a safe and efficient manner.
Drives truck with capacity of more than 3 tons to transport materials to and from specified destinations.
Delivers and off-loads material.
Collects payment for goods delivered and for delivery charges.
Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations.
Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
Cleans inside of truck.
Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs.
Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit.
Other duties may be assigned.
