About The Position

Drives tractor-trailer vehicle to designated locations and operate mechanized loading/unloading equipment. Performs other duties as assigned. This is a Part-Time Ramp Transport Driver-Apprentice position domiciled at AUSR (Austin Airport). The work schedule is Sunday – Saturday with 2 days off, AM SHIFT working between 4 AM - 12 PM.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Ability to operate mechanized loading/GSE
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 Lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person
• Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must obtain & maintain valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) & a hazardous materials endorsement (HME) for type of vehicle assigned within 90 days
• Must have good driving record as outlined in policy
• Neat appearance since customer contact is required

Nice To Haves

• Six (6) months FedEx Express experience preferred
• Ability to drive manual transmission preferred
• Customer contact & package handling experience preferred
• Good human relations & verbal communication skills
• MUST HAVE VALID DRIVERS LICENSE FOR PAST 3 CONSECUTIVE YEARS WITH GOOD DRIVING RECORD, WITHOUT ANY GAPS
• MUST COMPLETE ALL DRIVING FORMS IN APPLICATION PROCESS TO BE CONSIDERED
