About The Position

This position is located in Laurel, MD. The core working hours are 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Monday - Friday. This is a non-exempt position. Employees are eligible for overtime pay for any hours worked over 40 hours in a standard work week should it be necessary. This position requires that the employee must successfully complete criminal history information background checks and drug screening. Under the supervision of the Project Manager, performs those mowing and tractor tasks necessary to meet contract specifications.

Requirements

Must have a clean driving record and pass DOT Physical.

Nice To Haves

One to two years of tractor experience, preferably grounds-related.
Prior experience with individuals with differing abilities and/or some supervisory experience is desired.
One or two years’ general landscape experience with some familiarity with pesticides is desirable.

Responsibilities

Uses full-size tractors, including front-end loaders, riding mowers, and broadcast spreaders.
Using a tractor-mounted skid steer spreader, applies lime, fertilizer, grass seed, herbicides, and pesticides.
Performs large-scale mowing of the assigned work area.
Reports any abnormalities in trees, shrubs, and grass.
Performs basic maintenance and cleaning of all tractors and attachments.
Reports any repairs/maintenance needed for tractors.
Plows snow as needed.
Follows all safety procedures.
Maintains lawn in conformance with the specifications of the contract.
Performs other landscape-related tasks as needed.
