About The Position

The International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) is seeking a talented professional to join as a Track Services Coordinator. This role involves traveling to each track location to support events. The Track Services Team Member will typically be assigned to one of the IMSA response (Chase) vehicles during IMSA events, working to maintain a race-ready track. Responsibilities include track inspections, race car recovery, track clean-up, driver extrication, and fire suppression. The position may also involve Track Services dispatch duties in Race Control or cross-training with the dispatcher. Working in other areas pertaining to Track Services may also be required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a professional firefighter or paramedic with extrication experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Proficient on Company provided hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use extrication equipment.
  • Ability to use diplomacy when required.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Must be able to attend a minimum of six (6) race events in a calendar year.

Nice To Haves

  • EMT Certification preferred.
  • State Fire Fighting certification or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in track inspections prior to the beginning of each day’s activities and throughout the day as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining and conducting visual inspection of the IMSA on-track yellow light system.
  • Respond to and actively participate in the response to accidents on-track.
  • Manage on-track scenes until relieved by Chase 1.
  • Pre-inspect race facilities to ensure proper knowledge of and familiarity with the facility.
  • Train for and maintain a high proficiency of IMSA procedures and protocols.
  • Train and work with the track’s fire, rescue, towing, and restoration personnel.
  • Inspect and maintain the IMSA Chase Vehicle and equipment daily.
  • Attend daily Track Services meetings with the safety crews at the track.
  • May be asked to assume crew leadership responsibilities for a Chase vehicle, including responsibility for personnel and equipment on the vehicle.
  • Take command of on-track incidents until relieved by Chase 1.
