About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is hiring a Track Railway Engineer / EIT to join their growing team in Vancouver, British Columbia. This role involves collaborating with various engineering disciplines and professionals to deliver coordinated designs for railway infrastructure. The successful candidate will work on multidisciplinary projects, focusing on the design, construction, assessment, repair, and study of railway, track, and related infrastructure. Key responsibilities include using engineering judgment and standards to develop technical deliverables, performing calculations and documentation reviews, analyzing survey data, leading small teams, and managing small projects from both technical and project management perspectives. The role also requires client and stakeholder liaison, and supporting the Rail Infrastructure practice in achieving corporate targets. Occasional meetings in the eastern time zone are also expected.

Requirements

  • 3 + years of design and/or construction experience in railway engineering or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree in Applied Science or a related Engineering discipline
  • Current P.Eng or EIT designation, or eligible for P.Eng registration
  • Comfortable communicating with various stakeholders on a daily basis

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience supporting rail projects is a strong asset

Responsibilities

  • Design, construct, assess, repair and study railway, track and related infrastructure.
  • Use engineering judgment, analysis, experience and relevant standards to develop project technical deliverables such as drawings, reports and specifications.
  • Perform calculations/checks and document reviews; participate in quality processes.
  • Analyze as-built survey data to support project accuracy and validation.
  • Lead small teams to complete project deliverables, and provide engineering oversight and support for junior engineering and technical staff.
  • Lead small projects from both a technical and project management perspective, with the support administrative and cost control teams.
  • Liaise with clients and other stakeholders to understand needs and find functional solutions for all parties; demonstrate strong leadership and effective communication with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Support the Rail Infrastructure practice in achieving corporate targets.
