As a Railroad Conductor, you get to be a part of this iconic history. Napa Valley Wine Train has an array of enticing (and delicious) adventures, there is always something new to try on the Napa Valley Wine Train. A day in the life... As a Right of Way Track Laborer, you will install, maintain, and repair railway tracks, switches, and ties to ensure safe train operations.

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull materials weighing 50-65 lbs. or more.
  • Working outdoors in all weather conditions (extreme heat/cold).
  • Irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call for emergency repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Replacing rail, ties, spikes, and joints, as well as fixing track geometry (alignment and gauge).
  • Installing and repairing track switches, frogs, and rail joints, and lubricating rail curves.
  • Using power tools (drills, saws) and heavy equipment (bed tamping machines) to maintain ballast and track stability.
  • Cutting brush, clearing debris, cleaning ballast, and clearing snow/ice from switches and crossings.
  • Adhering to strict Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and company safety rules.
