About The Position

Founded in 1960, Liftow is North America's largest Toyota forklift dealership, committed to providing exceptional material handling equipment, products, training, and customer service. Liftow operates full-service branches across Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island. The Toyota Certified Technician diagnoses problems, performs repairs and provides preventative maintenance service on material handling equipment at a customer’s site.

Requirements

  • College diploma and/or completion of a trade school certification or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years’ experience as an auto, forklift, heavy equipment or truck and coach mechanic.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • A valid provincial propane license (ICE-IE-P or ICE-P) is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems of battery and Internal Combustion powered material handling equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles.
  • Knowledge of the use of hand tools and measuring devices.
  • Knowledge of the use of electrical/electronic diagnostic tools/measurements.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and communication skills.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast paced and changing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience repairing Toyota Products preferred.
  • Power Lift Truck License (PLT) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs repairs and services on various types of material handling equipment and its components including forklifts, stackers, electric carts, electric tow trucks, transporters.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and Lift Device Inspection at prescribed intervals of time and repairs on various types of material handling equipment including forklifts, stackers, electric carts, electric tow trucks, transporters.
  • Sound knowledge of utilizing electronic manuals, use of digital voltage meters and applicable diagnostic software for repairing/servicing of material handling equipment.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical/electronic component diagnosis.
  • Uses instruction manuals and wiring diagrams to diagnose components, and electrical wiring.
  • Ensures work performed is verified and the truck returned to the customer clean and operational.
  • Ensures customer work area is clean and free of debris, oil and grease.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
