This role involves adhering to all safety, laboratory protocols, IT security, and HIPAA SOPs and policies. The technologist will follow standards for specimen labeling and documentation, preparing patient samples for LC-MS/MS confirmation testing and immunoassay screening. Responsibilities include maintaining and operating equipment, performing instrument maintenance, proper storage of samples and reagents, and verifying reagent expiration dates. The position requires familiarity with sample rejection criteria, preparation of reagents, controls, and samples, and reviewing/publishing patient results. Additionally, the role involves performing new lot verifications, applying corrective actions to failed QCs, communicating process deviations, and upholding standards set by CAP, CLIA, and internal SOPs. General laboratory housekeeping, cleaning, organization, preventative maintenance, and process improvement projects are also part of the role, ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks.
