About The Position

Minivasive Pain and Orthopedics is looking for a Toxicology Laboratory Technician to join our team. The Toxicology Laboratory Technician promotes a positive patient experience by assisting in specimen processing, laboratory testing, analysis of data, and reporting test results.

Requirements

  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Must type 35 wpm
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety practices
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to work as a team and independently by guiding oneself with little or no supervision
  • Bachelor of Science degree in biology, chemistry, or laboratory science
  • One (1) year of clinical laboratory experience in a moderate and/or high complexity testing environment.
  • Experience with analyzing, reviewing, and processing data chromatography

Responsibilities

  • Able to accession and extract biological samples for testing
  • Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting, and maintaining records of patient results
  • Prepare stock solutions, internal standard, solvents, quality control, and reagents
  • Perform routine maintenance on immunoassay instrument, LC/MS/MS, and lab equipment as recommended by manufacture
  • Able to evaluate data statistically by calculating precision, deviations and percentage
  • Maintain records which demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens
  • Enters patient demographics, orders appropriate tests, and report toxicology data using LIMS or LIS system
  • Adhere to laboratory quality control policies and document all QC activities, instrument and procedural calibrations
  • Follow laboratory policies whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s established acceptable levels of performance
  • Be able to identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either correct the problem or notify the appropriate supervisor
  • Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications
