About The Position

Gradient, a Geosyntec Company, is seeking a motivated and resourceful Mid-Level Toxicologist/Risk Assessor to apply knowledge of toxicology to science-based risk evaluations related to human and environmental risk. You will have the opportunity to support our growing practice in Boston, MA. The opportunity to work a hybrid schedule or remotely from your home-office in Austin, TX may be available at the discretion of the Company. Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in toxicology or related sciences. (required)
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills. (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D. in toxicology. (preferred)
  • At least 2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (preferred)
  • Knowledge of exposure and dose-response modeling methods and tools ( e.g ., benchmark dose [BMD] modeling, physiologically based pharmacokinetic [PBPK] modeling). (valuable)
  • Knowledge of food additive, consumer or medical product, pharmaceutical, pesticide, chemical, occupational, or environmental regulations, air modeling, and other exposure assessment techniques. (valuable)
  • Background in conducting or contributing to systematic reviews. (valuable)

Responsibilities

  • Critically evaluate animal and in vitro toxicological data and results to assess potential for human health risks from exposure to chemicals in the environment and consumer products.
  • Perform various analyses in support of toxicology projects, including tabulation of toxicology study data and evaluation of results, for reports, systematic reviews, and hazard assessments.
  • Conduct literature searches and critically review and evaluate toxicology studies for strengths and weaknesses regarding study quality, relevance, and reliability for use in human health risk assessment.
  • Project work related to toxicology may include systematic reviews, hazard assessments, occupational health and safety assessments, litigation support, regulatory comment, product safety assessments, and site-specific human health risk assessments.
  • Assist in the preparation of deliverables (reports, manuscripts, memoranda, presentations, project proposals, agency comments).
  • Opportunities to manage small- to medium-sized projects.
