About The Position

TRC is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Scientist/Toxicologist to join our EH&S, Engineering, Construction, and Remediation (ECR) team operating out of Greenville, SC. This position will be part of a skilled team that works closely with Project Managers and other technical leads performing ecological and human health risk assessments, environmental compliance, and other environmental project related activities, including development and implementation of field survey plans and assessments. We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, and personable individual with an eye for detail, a willingness to learn, and a desire to be part of a growing and high performing team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental toxicology, natural resources, biology, ecology, or related field.
  • A minimum of 5-8 years combined of technical and field experience performing a combination of field and report preparation activities including performing risk assessments
  • Experience with biological assessments, habitat assessments, supporting preparation of wetland delineation reports and Section 401/404 permit applications is preferred
  • Strong environmental writing and communication skills
  • Strong ability to organize and evaluate scientific data in multiple software platforms
  • Strong ability to prioritize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to apply environmental compliance and permitting regulations of applicable regulatory agencies in the Southeast region.
  • Excellent verbal communication and technical communication skills are mandatory, along with the ability to maintain a positive attitude working under aggressive schedules and challenging work conditions such as heavily vegetated, rough terrain and hot and humid weather conditions.
  • The candidate must have a strong ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • The ability to prepare clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondence, and other written materials is also required.

Nice To Haves

  • Willingness to spend up to 30% in the field.
  • Demonstrated competency in statistics and quantitative data analysis.
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS and/or Fulcrum programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support human health and ecological risk assessment teams with data evaluation, statistical analysis and food web modeling
  • Research toxicological data and information to support human health and ecological risk assessments.
  • Perform dietary exposure modeling in support of risk assessments
  • Conduct scientific literature reviews and summarize key data and components for use in scientific data evaluation.
  • Assist with development of biological field assessments and studies.
  • Prepare protected species reports.
  • Prepare additional technical reports and develop agency correspondence.
  • Communicate and coordinate with agencies for coordination and consultation.
  • Provide technical support in responding to requests for proposals.
  • Abide by Company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.
