About The Position

The Tower Service Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of communications equipment on various tower sites. This includes climbing towers up to 500ft and installing associated hardware at height such as antennas, brackets, cabling, and connectors. This is a multi-skilled position, seeking technicians with additional expertise in networking, structured cabling, and/or radio systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting wireless infrastructure, data communications, and telecom services across a range of environments.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in tower and/or telecommunications work
  • Experience with hand and power tools, testing equipment, and installation materials
  • Knowledge of telecom networking requirements and standards
  • Ability to work safely at heights and in hazardous environments
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application.
  • Full, valid, and current driver’s license
  • Clean 5-year driver’s abstract
  • Clear Criminal Background Check
  • Successful completion of a Pre-Access Drug & Alcohol test, with ongoing random testing as required by clients

Responsibilities

  • Installation and service of PTP and PTMP wireless systems
  • Installation and testing of structured cabling (Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat 6A, Fiber Optic)
  • Programming and diagnostics of radio communications systems
  • Proficient with test equipment such as multimeters, watt meters, antenna diagnostics tools, and DTF
  • Experience with tower climbing, rigging systems, and fall protection procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret telecommunication drawings and engineering documentation
  • Site surveys and tower inspections
  • Towing and deploying portable towers and trailers
  • Other duties as required
