About The Position

As a Tower Loader, you move pallets of merchandise from staging areas and load them onto the appropriate trailers, helping maintain safe and efficient daily operations. The role uses forklifts and/or electric pallet jacks and includes inspecting trailers and equipment, verifying orders, and securing pallets to prevent damage. The position is full-time on the first shift, Wednesday through Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at 4875 N Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406. Starting pay is $19 per hour, with potential to earn $25 or more per hour after training. Paid training is provided. The grocery dry-goods work environment is approximately 50°–90°F.

Requirements

One or more years of experience operating material-handling equipment, such as a sit-down forklift or clamp truck.
Strong sense of safety and ability to follow standard safety procedures.
Ability and willingness to follow all material-handling equipment safe-operating procedures.
Team-oriented outlook and a passion for helping others.
High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma; the listed fields of study are General Studies.

Responsibilities

Move pallets of merchandise from staging areas and load the proper trailers.
Use forklifts and/or electric pallet jacks.
Inspect trailers before loading products.
Verify orders during loading using RF handhelds and/or voice headsets.
Load full pallets into trailers and secure them properly to avoid damage.
Inspect equipment and complete the appropriate inspection form.
Follow material-handling equipment safe-operating procedures and standard safety procedures.
Safely lift items of varying weights, shapes, and heights as needed.
