About The Position

B.Y.O.T. Auto Parts, a premier Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi auto recycler, provides a wide range of used automotive commodities to the value conscious public. Properly and safely relocate purchased vehicles from the seller’s point of origin to the BYOT yard utilizing assigned tow truck and equipment. Negotiate with vehicle sellers to obtain the lowest possible purchase price for the company. Present to the customer a professional personal and company representation by providing excellent service, safe operation, and timeliness. Maintain tow truck and equipment in compliance with company guidelines. Perform necessary documentation timely and correctly according to established procedures.

Requirements

  • Possess appropriate and valid operator’s license for specified vehicle(s).
  • Present clean, well-groomed appearance.
  • Demonstrate positive customer service attitude both to co-workers (internal customers) and customers.
  • Possess good verbal communication, legible handwriting, and basic math functionality.
  • No more than one preventable accident or two moving violations within three consecutive years preceding employment application.
  • Ability to obtain TDLR licensing requirements.
  • Ability to sit in vehicle seat for extended periods, significant amount of driving, bending, lifting, listening to and responding to phone communications.
  • Successfully pass drug tests in compliance with Company Policy and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • Must submit to and pass background check per Company policy and contractual requirements.
  • Possess basic mechanical aptitude.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • 2 years Tow Driving experience (Required)
  • Ability to commute to Beaumont, TX 77713 (Required)
  • Ability to relocate to Beaumont, TX 77713 before starting work (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Arrive at work location promptly as scheduled, prepared for work.
  • Provide vehicle towing in a safe, professional, and timely manner, free of accident, injury, and damage.
  • Submit timely and accurate required documentation for processing.
  • Complete pre-trip inspection sheets daily.
  • Maintain truck fluid levels according to manufacturer standards.
  • Maintain a consistent excellent attendance.
  • Abide by all Federal, State, and Municipal laws, rules and ordinances and maintain an infraction free driving record.
  • Maintain truck and equipment in a safe, clean state, operating it in a safe, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Consistently ensure quality customer service through professionalism, timely response, skill and courtesy.
  • Maintain personal appearance and uniforms in compliance with established company standards.
  • Assist and collaborate with all co-workers.
  • Attend driver and employee meetings as required for job and safety information.
  • Attend training and achieve professional certification as directed by management.
  • Drive defensively, always wear your seat belt, practice the four second following rule, minimize backing and right turns.
