About The Position

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a full-time Tour Operations Manager to join their team at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Merritt Island, Florida. This leadership role will oversee the daily operations and strategic direction of the Kennedy Space Center Bus Tour. The manager will lead a team dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences as visitors journey beyond NASA's gates to explore historic launch sites, active spaceflight facilities, and the story of space exploration. This role is for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys developing teams, and is passionate about creating unforgettable experiences for guests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in transportation management, hospitality, business, or a related field; equivalent experience may substitute
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation or tour operations, preferably in a unionized environment
  • Strong knowledge of FDOT regulations and commercial vehicle operations
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing large teams and client relationships
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of microsoft office; Excel and Word

Responsibilities

  • Manage routing, scheduling, and fleet coordination, and participate in strategic planning and budgeting for tour operations
  • Ensure compliance with Florida Department of Transportation regulations, vehicle inspections, and driver licensing
  • Monitor and adjust tour routes in response to NASA launch activity and road closures
  • Supervise unionized bus drivers and dispatch team members, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements
  • Partner with human resources and labor relations to address grievances, performance issues, and workforce development
  • Stay current on transportation laws, OSHA standards, and NASA site-specific requirements while maintaining and enforcing safety protocols for guests and team members, including emergency response procedures
  • Operate a motorized vehicle when necessary
