About The Position
Toonie Tours is looking for Tour Guides to join their team in Banff, Alberta. This is a freelance, contractor position primarily hiring people available for part-time or seasonal full-time work, often on weekends. The main responsibility is to lead groups of 5-30 customers on entertaining and engaging tours of the community. Toonie Tours uses a performance-based compensation model and seeks individuals who love Canada and are knowledgeable about their local communities.
Requirements
- Fluent English speaking.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to present and speak loudly.
- Personable and approachable.
- Exceptional story-telling skills.
- Ability to capture the attention of the group.
- Great sense of humor.
- Works well in a performance-based compensation model.
- Is recommendable and commands 5-star reviews.
- Adapts well to varying circumstances as the group needs change with the always-changing outdoor environment.
- Punctual - shows up early for every tour, without fail.
- Physically fit - can manage 5 km of walking in 3 hours, while speaking and presenting.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Additional languages (French, Spanish, German, Russian, Italia, Portuguese) are welcome.

Responsibilities
- Learn, research, design, and personalize tours and stories to be authentically presented.
- Meet, welcome, and lead tour groups of 5-30 customers.
- Provide local recommendations and tips for out-of-town travelers and those less familiar with the community.
- Represent Toonie Tours, the community, and tour guides in general to the public.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
