About The Position

Cascade Systems Technology is looking for a Touch-Up / Rework Technician to ensure quality and reliability of electronic assemblies by inspecting, repairing, and reworking printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) to meet IPC and customer requirements. In this hands-on role, you'll perform component-level soldering and rework, identify and correct assembly defects, verify product quality using microscopes and inspection tools, and support production teams in delivering high-quality electronic products. This position requires schedule flexibility, including overtime as needed. Shifts may begin as early as 5:00 a.m. or 6:00 a.m. and can include up to 10-hour workdays. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in electronics manufacturing, assembly, soldering, inspection, rework, repair, or related manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend assembly drawings, work instructions, wiring diagrams, schematics, and other technical documentation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Must be able to learn and work within Lean Manufacturing principles and processes.
  • Ability to identify electronic components, component markings, and part numbers.
  • Ability to learn and follow ISO 9000 quality processes.
  • Must be eligible to work in compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements.
  • Familiar with and ability to use MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn and utilize other Company software.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of IPC standards, including IPC-A-610 preferred.
  • Experience working under ISO quality systems preferred.
  • IPC-A-610 Certification preferred.
  • IPC J-STD-001 Certification preferred.
  • IPC-7711/7721 Rework and Repair Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect assembled printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies for workmanship, component placement, solder quality, polarity, orientation, and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Perform touch-up and rework of surface mount (SMT) and through-hole components using approved soldering techniques and equipment.
  • Remove and replace electronic components, including integrated circuits (ICs), resistors, capacitors, connectors, and other electronic devices.
  • Perform hand soldering, de-soldering, component replacement, and circuit board repair as required.
  • Utilize microscopes, magnification equipment, and inspection tools to identify defects and verify repairs.
  • Perform rework and modifications in accordance with engineering instructions and customer requirements.
  • Verify proper component values, locations, orientation, and polarity prior to rework activities.
  • Complete all production records, rework logs, repair documentation, and traceability records as required.
  • Identify and communicate quality concerns, recurring defects, and process issues to the supervisor or team lead within fifteen (15) minutes of discovery.
  • Follow established workmanship standards, IPC guidelines, and company quality procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
