Tote/Tanker Washer
About The Position
SMS Staffing is hiring immediately for a Tote/Tank Washer in the Kenosha, WI area. This is a temp-to-hire position with a pay rate of $16.50+ per hour. The role involves cleaning, washing, and drying tankers, hoses, equipment, and totes using a power washing system. Responsibilities include draining equipment into designated chemical waste drums, visually inspecting and manually cleaning totes, unloading empty drums, and operating a sit-down forklift. The job requires maintaining a clean and safe work environment, completing paperwork, and adhering to all company policies and safety guidelines. The work is performed in a hazardous environment and involves safety-sensitive functions, potentially including outdoor work in various weather conditions and heavy lifting, bending, and climbing. PPE such as goggles, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe shoes, face shield, hard hat, and respirator will be required.
Requirements
- Ability to operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently
- Ability to perform manual handling and movement of drums using hand carts
- Ability to wear required PPE including goggles, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe shoes, face shield, hard hat, and respirator as needed
Responsibilities
- Clean, wash, and dry tankers, hoses, equipment, and totes using a power washing system
- Drain equipment into designated chemical waste drums
- Visually inspect, manually clean, and pressure test totes as required
- Unload empty drums, sort, and reload dirty drums onto conditioner trailers
- Accurately complete required paperwork and documentation
- Perform manual handling and movement of drums using hand carts
- Operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Wear required PPE including goggles, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe shoes, face shield, hard hat, and respirator as needed
- Maintain inventory of empty drums for waste stream use
