Kordsa currently has an opening for a Total Rewards Specialist our Chattanooga, TN location. This is a fully on-site position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, or related field or satisfactory work experience
  • 5–7 years of experience in Human Resources, Total Rewards, Payroll, or HRIS, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience processing multi-state payroll, including California, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee
  • Working knowledge of federal and state labor laws, payroll regulations, and benefits administration
  • ADP Workforce Now Experience and Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Process semi-monthly salaried and bi-weekly hourly multi-state payrolls, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including California, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. Payroll activities include bonuses, safety incentives, annual CAP, relocation, increases, adjustments, manual checks, and payouts related to terminations, reductions, severance, and unused vacation.
  • Administer and audit payroll inputs including garnishments, child support orders, and tax levies; maintain compliance documentation, including I-9 records.
  • Maintain and process employee data transactions including new hires, terminations, and status changes; generate payroll-related reports such as general ledger, census, headcount, and management reporting. Track and reconcile vacation accruals.
  • Manage year-end payroll activities including W-2 processing, reporting, and accrual carryover. Compile and validate payroll, benefits, and financial data from multiple sources to support reporting and audit requirements.
  • Serve as system administrator for HRIS, payroll, and benefits platforms across North America; ensure data integrity and timely updates. Coordinate benefit deductions and file transmissions with carriers and vendors. Generate and distribute payroll reports to Finance and external partners.
  • Support financial processes including payroll-related reconciliations, funding requests, and audit reporting. Conduct new hire orientation related to pay and benefits.
  • Experience administering expatriate (expat) payroll, including applicable tax equalization, gross-ups, and international assignment considerations.
  • Administer day-to-day benefit programs, serving as primary contact for employees, vendors, and brokers.
  • Manage annual Open Enrollment, including system setup, employee communications, and enrollment audits.
  • Maintain and update plan documentation, employee communications, and benefit materials.
  • Review and approve vendor invoices; ensure accuracy of eligibility, billing, and deductions.
  • Coordinate with brokers and providers on annual renewals, plan changes, and issue resolution.
  • Administer COBRA processes, including eligibility notifications and vendor coordination.
  • Administer 401(k) and profit-sharing plans, including payroll deductions, funding requests, and reconciliation of plan activity with provider records.
  • Coordinate annual compliance testing, audits, and required filings (including Form 5500). Maintain plan documents and Summary Plan Descriptions.
  • Support employee engagement and education initiatives to drive participation and informed investment decisions.
  • Facilitate Fiduciary Committee governance, including meeting coordination, documentation, and follow-up on action items.
  • Support recruitment, hiring, and termination processes as needed
  • Complete employment verifications
  • Respond to employee relations and payroll inquiries; resolve discrepancies
  • Liaise with payroll providers (e.g., ADP) and external vendors
  • Participate in internal and external audits
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects and employee engagement initiatives
  • Perform general administrative duties (phone, email, etc.)
