Requirements

  • College or university degree required.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience, with at least 1 year of claims experience in Auto Insurance.
  • CIP course requirements based on necessary licenses for business needs
  • Industry accreditation and training generally required.
  • Intermediate-level knowledge with related training and/or experience.
  • Ability to make independent decisions, demonstrate critical thinking, and act without a handbook when needed.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, such as effective calendar use and task prioritization.
  • Excellent communication skills, both for providing updates and for handling difficult settlement conversations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, diversity, and supporting a positive workplace culture.
  • Openness to working with diverse teams and contributing to an inclusive environment

Responsibilities

  • Participate fully as a member of the team, supporting a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation, and teamwork.
  • Ensure timely communication of issues and points of interest within the team and business unit.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge and expertise in own area and participate in knowledge transfer within the team.
  • Stay current on emerging trends and developments, and grow knowledge of the business, related tools, and techniques.
  • Engage in personal performance management and development activities, including cross-training within the team.
  • Keep others informed and up-to-date about the status and progress of projects and all relevant day-to-day activities.
  • Willingly assist others in the completion and performance of work activities; provide training, coaching, and guidance as appropriate.
  • Contribute to a fair, positive, and equitable environment that supports a diverse workforce.
  • Act as a brand champion for the business area/function and the bank, both internally and externally.
  • Apply an intermediate level of knowledge to handle routine claims with minimal to moderate risk.
  • Handle Core Auto, focusing on total loss vehicles and conducting settlement conversations.
  • Responsible for Core Claims with limited settlement authority; escalate claims exceeding authority for approval.
  • Complete work within specifically defined parameters, with guidance and direction from management as necessary.
  • Utilise the tools required for daily operations, such as Ask Sage and Espace.
  • Maintain strong time management skills to handle a high-pressure environment and meet service level agreements (SLA), including phone call handling targets.
