About The Position

The Torcher safely operates assigned equipment to process materials according to WSR procedures. The role reduces the size of metal objects through flame cutting or torching, dismantles machinery and other items using mechanical methods, and segregates materials by type. It may also involve weighing products or materials and recording weights and other product information. The employee completes paperwork, tally sheets, and reports accurately and maintains a clean, organized work area.

This is a full-time position with expected hours of 40 per week, Monday through Friday. Weekend work may be necessary on an as-needed basis. No travel is expected. Duties and responsibilities may change with or without notice.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Safely operate assigned equipment and use required job-specific PPE.
• Ability to perform the stated physical activities, including lifting over 50 pounds and working in extreme weather conditions.

• Warehouse experience, including handling and sorting material.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate assigned equipment to process materials according to WSR procedures.
• Perform routine pre- and post-inspections of equipment and report unsatisfactory results to a supervisor.
• Report damage to company property, including racking, trailers, and equipment.
• Use all job-specific personal protective equipment (PPE) prescribed and provided by the company.
• Reduce the size of metal objects and items by flame cutting or torching in a timely and effective manner.
• Dismantle machinery and other items using mechanical methods and segregate material by type.
• Weigh products or materials and record weights and other necessary product information when required.
• Complete paperwork, tally sheets, and reports accurately, legibly, and on time.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
