About The Position

Royston LLC is the industry leader in the advanced design, manufacture and installation of first-class store interiors for the convenience, grocery, quick serve restaurant, mass merchandise, food service and specialty retail segments. We are currently looking for Top Cell/ Solid Surface Operators on 2nd shift. This role involves efficiently and effectively cutting out, building, assembling, and sanding solid surface components to build solid surface countertops. This may require the ability to read blueprints and make adjustments. All countertops must be made in a uniform way according to the desired size and shape. These duties shall be performed in a safe and effective manner.

Requirements

  • Understanding of production procedures
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Experience in a woodworking manufacturing environment
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and rectifying problems that may occur during the process
  • Comfortable operating machine tools, sanders, and measuring equipment
  • Ability to work well with other team members
  • Ability to work safely, identify hazards, and follow safety procedures
  • Good math and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years hands-on experience working with solid surface material, solid surface counter tops fabrication in a manufacturing or woodworking environment preferred, but not necessary
  • Experienced with a wide variety of power and hand tools including but not limited to chop saws, glue guns, sanders, routers

Responsibilities

  • Cut out, build, assemble, glue, cut, and sand all solid surface components for assigned jobs
  • Inspect finished solid surface products to ensure all work is done without distortions or flaws
  • Monitor manufacturing specifications in blueprint-type documents to ensure that proper materials are used for job orders and meets company quality standards and job specifications
  • Maintain accurate records of materials used for job orders using material usage sheets and report solid surface factory defects
  • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
  • Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials
  • Complete other duties as assigned
