About The Position

Tool Room Attendants receive, store, and issue hand tools, machine tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies, and equipment such as measuring devices. They also issue and receive HAZMAT, and weigh, handle, and use HAZMAT in an industrial establishment. This role involves monitoring the condition of all tools and equipment in tool room custody and maintaining accountability of all tool inventories. Duties include maintaining records of tools issued and returned, receiving, accounting for, unpacking, and storing new equipment, and interpreting manufacturers' and maintenance manuals. The attendant will use electric marking tools to attach identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment. Proficiency in computer use, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and the ability to navigate NALCOMIS/OOMA for data entry and retrieval are required. The role involves preparing periodic or perpetual inventories and requisitioning stock as needed, monitoring equipment condition, and reporting loss, damage, or destruction of tooling according to documented procedures. Amentum enforces a safety culture, requiring employees to develop and maintain a safe work environment, complete training, fulfill self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities, and participate in safety committees and teams. All other position-related duties as assigned or requested are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Minimum, one (1) year related experience.
  • Must maintain tracking and identification of calibrated tools and special equipment.
  • Issue/receive, dispose and handle HAZMAT/HAZWATE.
  • Must read and understand his/her Quality Management and Customer Satisfaction responsibilities.
  • Must read, understand and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to his/her job.
  • Familiarity with wide range of tools and equipment associated with support of tracked and wheeled vehicle maintenance effort.
  • Basic knowledge of generally accepted warehousing concepts such as storage layout, locator systems, and proper material handling procedures.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a general-purpose government vehicle.
  • Must be able to utilize TCMAX operating system for tool control program.
  • Position will require to complete (PQS) Personal qualification standards as needed.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
  • May be required to pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) with a Tier 3 adjudication.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Reports loss, damage, or destruction of tooling in accordance with documented procedures.
  • Continuously develops and maintains a safe work environment.
  • Completes all training requirements and fulfills all self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities.
  • Serves on safety committees and teams.
  • Performs all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
