Tool Room Attendants receive, store, and issue hand tools, machine tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies, and equipment such as measuring devices. They also issue and receive HAZMAT, and weigh, handle, and use HAZMAT in an industrial establishment. This role involves monitoring the condition of all tools and equipment in tool room custody and maintaining accountability of all tool inventories. Duties include maintaining records of tools issued and returned, receiving, accounting for, unpacking, and storing new equipment, and interpreting manufacturers' and maintenance manuals. The attendant will use electric marking tools to attach identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment. Proficiency in computer use, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and the ability to navigate NALCOMIS/OOMA for data entry and retrieval are required. The role involves preparing periodic or perpetual inventories and requisitioning stock as needed, monitoring equipment condition, and reporting loss, damage, or destruction of tooling according to documented procedures.
