We are seeking a Tools & Pipeline Engineer to build the automation infrastructure and development standards for our simulation projects. In this role, you will design and implement CI/CD pipelines, establish development workflows, and standardize collaboration practices to ensure high-quality, efficient delivery. You will be the guardian of the build process and the primary enabler of our simulation testing capabilities. An ideal candidate is passionate about games, enjoys tackling a wide range of technical challenges, and has a track record of delivering great player and customer experiences across different areas of game development.

Requirements

  • Automation Mindset: A passion for eliminating manual processes and building reliable, repeatable workflows.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.) and experience with CI/CD tools.
  • Quality Focus: A commitment to testing and validation, with experience in game or simulation testing environments.
  • Collaboration: Strong communication skills to work with engineers, designers, and producers to integrate tools into daily workflows.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex build and pipeline issues quickly.
  • Team Collaboration: Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, designers, producers, and project leads.
  • Passion for Gaming: A genuine enthusiasm for games and a desire to help create engaging, high-quality experiences for players.
  • Interest in Learning: Curiosity and eagerness to learn new technologies, engines, and practices to remain adaptable and effective.

Nice To Haves

  • Game Development Experience: Familiarity with game engines and their build pipelines.
  • ECS Knowledge: Understanding of Entity Component System architectures (e.g., Flecs).
  • DevOps Experience: Experience with containerization or cloud infrastructure for simulation hosting.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and enforce best practices for source control, pull requests, and project tracking integration to streamline team collaboration.
  • Design and implement continuous integration and deployment pipelines to automate testing, building, and artifact management.
  • Develop tooling for simulation command injection via server, client, and headless client workflows.
  • Resolve compilation issues and maintain build systems to ensure a smooth development experience for the team.
  • Focus on integrating testable workflows into the development lifecycle, supporting smoke tests, correctness validation, and load testing scenarios without disrupting feature development.
