About The Position

The Toolroom Technician will be responsible for the disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of molds with some direction from a toolmaker. This role involves simple machining as individual capabilities allow, cleaning and straightening of the mold vault, and cleaning and changing washer units and coolant tanks. The technician will also perform preventative maintenance of molding rooms, pin changes, and complex conversions in multi-cavity tooling, both in the press and in the Tool Room. Participation in a machine maintenance program, general housekeeping, and basic electrical troubleshooting of Hot Runners and Hot Runner controllers are also required. Hydraulic cylinder maintenance and repair, along with other assigned duties, fall under the scope of this position.

Requirements

Highschool Diploma/GED
Mechanical and Math ability as demonstrated by test
Physical ability to perform activity in the Tool Room.
Perform simple machining, per individual's capabilities.
Regain molds, per individual capabilities.

Nice To Haves

Blueprint knowledge
Basic knowledge of Tool Room machines and equipment.
Prior experience in a tooling atmosphere
Required to participate in a machine maintenance program
Basic electrical troubleshooting of Hot Runners and Hot Runner Controllers

Responsibilities

Disassembly of molds, cleaning of mold components and reassembly of molds with some direction from tool maker.

Perform pin changes and complex conversions in multi-cavity tooling. Both in the press and in the Tool Room.

Basic electrical troubleshooting of Hot Runners and Hot Runner controllers.
Hydraulic Cylinder Maintenance and Repair.
All other duties as assigned.
