About The Position

Kinperium-Hiniker LLC (Hiniker) is a Minnesota based manufacturer with roots in the agricultural equipment industry since 1970. They are known for sturdy cultivators, efficient shredders, and niche equipment. In 1995, Hiniker expanded into manufacturing snow removal equipment, which is a trusted tool for many, featuring innovative designs like the Hiniker C-Plow and Scoop Plow. In 2024, they acquired Daniels Plows to further strengthen their snow removal solutions. They are currently seeking a Toolmaker with strong experience in manufacturing environments for their Mankato, MN location.

Requirements

Proficiency in reading and using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers and indicators.
Proficiency in operating toolroom equipment.
Skilled in CAD/CAM software.
Ability to work with tight tolerances.
Capable of troubleshooting tooling and fixturing issues.
High school diploma or GED certificate.
3-5 years tool and die making experience.
Strong mechanical skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities.

Nice To Haves

Technical Trade School or Associated Degree in Machine Tool Technology.
Experience with CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

Create precision tools to aid in the company’s manufacturing processes.
Grind, turn, and mill material to create required parts and jigs.
Assist in the design of parts and jigs in CAD software and/or interpret blueprints from product designers.
Troubleshoot production issues, drive root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Communicate effectively across all departments and platforms.
Read and use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and indicators.
Operate toolroom equipment.
Program CNC and manually operated toolroom equipment.
Work with tight tolerances and troubleshoot tooling and fixturing issues.
Perform maintenance on machines.
Maintain excellent housekeeping and follow 5S principles.
