About The Position

The Tooling Project Engineer provides end-to-end coordination for tooling projects, from initial cost/quote activity through build, qualification, and launch. This role exists to keep tooling on schedule, aligned to print, and performing to expectations while supporting customers and internal teams.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • CAD/computer proficiency and ability to read blueprints
  • Journeyman mold maker; 5–10 years as a mold maker and/or mold design engineer

  • Lead tooling projects with precision and follow procedures while adopting new technology

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and compare tooling quotations; track progress from kickoff through completion
  • Support plastic injection mold and related tooling design; review CAD and prints for manufacturability
  • Partner with customers on part design for moldability and tooling strategy
  • Identify/qualify mold vendors, maintain supplier relationships, and manage project communication
  • Troubleshoot molds that are not meeting performance requirements; drive root-cause and corrective actions
  • Define and maintain preventive maintenance (PM) requirements for molds
