Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read and interpret all production prints for the purpose of selecting the required pre-tooling set up sheets.
  • Adequate computer skills to access production procedures to perform the required work.
  • Must be able to pass Canadian Controlled Goods Assessment and criminal background check and be compliant with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Responsibilities

  • Pre-set tooling for all required production processes within a specific area.
  • Inspect and assess tooling condition to determine suitability for production usage. Refer unfit tooling to Process Engineering and/or Tool Design for disposition.
  • Set up and operate a CNC lathe for the purpose of pre-setting and turning Jaws.
  • Perform basic problem solving and troubleshoot to resolve production/process issues to meet required standards.
  • Responsible for quality timely readiness of pre-sets within a specified area. Calibration and adjustment of all Shoe centerless systems is required. Assist in monitoring of machine set up problems and take corrective action in timely manner.
  • Required to perform inspection of own work using precision measuring equipment as provided or directed to assess quality of work.
  • Follow and accurately record data as directed or required in tooling databases, routers, IMS, and any other production tracking systems.
  • Required to train other operators as needed.
  • May be required to work in other departments.
  • Ability to read and interpret all production prints for the purpose of selecting the required pre-tooling set up sheets.
  • Requires adequate computer skills to access production procedures to perform the required work.
  • Responsible for excellent housekeeping and maintaining 5S in all areas.
  • Meet the skill requirements identified in the applicable training matrix and maintain certification through company Certified Operator Program.
