About The Position

The Tooling Maintenance position is responsible for setting up and maintaining molds, lining tooling, printing, and vision systems for production use. This role involves performing mold, lining, printing, and vision changes safely and efficiently, and keeping the Tooling Supervisor informed about the condition of all tooling and associated components. The position also requires adherence to food safety and general safety policies, and may involve backup duties for off-shift maintenance.

Requirements

Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
Ability to read and understand blueprints
English reading and writing skills
Ability to use micrometer, ruler, and caliper
Fork lift and man lift certifications required
Minimum 3 years of related experience

Responsibilities

Performs scheduled maintenance on molds, lining, printing, and vision tooling.
Completes dis-assembly of molds, cleans and inspects all components, and repairs damages as directed.
Installs, replaces, and maintains water and hydraulic fittings.
Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains HR manifolds, controllers, and cables.
Performs tooling changeovers after reviewing the applicable Mold Recipe Document.
Tests water and HR systems, including controllers, prior to production.
Replaces "O" rings and seals, and lubricates molds.
Performs Lining Die Cut Edge changes and sharpens Lining Cut Edges.
Performs PM Lining Die Sets.
Constructs side shields, chutes, or knock out rods as required.
Transports and manipulates molds using forklifts and overhead cranes.
Hooks up/unhooks water, chute, and cylinder for mold changes according to approved prints.
Hooks up/unhooks controller for hot runner molds.
Installs/removes knock out rods, conveyors, spinner bowls, side shields, and thermolator.
Sets up process machines, maintains and improves quality cavitation, and maintains efficient cycle times.
Documents current process setups.
Sets up punch and rotary lining machines.
Troubleshoots Lining production issues.
Returns tooling and components to their assigned locations.
Documents the condition of tooling and informs the supervisor of any major damage.
Adheres to all department safety procedures.
Undergoes training and becomes proficient in all tool room related Phoenix Work Instructions.
Participates in additional training to improve knowledge and hands-on skill levels.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsible for following all Food Safety related policies and procedures.
Responsible for following all Safety Rules, policies, procedures and work instructions.
Provides backup for Off-shift Tooling/Setup Maintenance.
