1st shift Tooling Engineer Participate and contribute in MOS (Midway Operating Systems) activities as required for Continuous Improvement. Participate and contribute in tooling design reviews and approvals including: Engineering changes to assure feasibility, production worthiness, and meeting product design intent as well as Midway Products Group Tooling and Fixture Standards. Authorized to participate as company representative in tool shop run offs to assure that tooling fixtures meet the design specifications and conformance to company build standards and production performance standards. Coordinate as required plant activities for homeline tryouts of new tooling and fixtures to assure the PPAP dates are met. Provide Engineering expertise, direction and assistance as required or requested to the Skilled Trades in resolving tooling related problems. Designs special tooling and fixtures as required. Contribute as required Tooling Engineering expertise to achieve plant performance objectives and LTA Cost Reduction programs. Maintain the department's Tooling drawings and records. Assist in the development and the maintenance of spare tooling, details, and parts for all new and existing tools, fixtures, and special equipment as required. Authorized to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product, process, and quality system. Performs other essential job functions as assigned.
