At our state‑of‑the‑art Technology and Manufacturing Center in Oak Ridge, TN, you’ll play a hands‑on role in shaping the tooling that drives our production success. As a key member of our Manufacturing Engineering team, you’ll design and develop the jigs, fixtures, and machine tooling packages that keep our operations running with precision, efficiency, and reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Proven experience in jig and fixture design.
  • CNC machine tool experience.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing quality systems (NQA‑1, ISO‑TS, AS9001)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.
  • Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
  • Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening in accordance with Federal requirements (details below)
  • Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values.

Responsibilities

  • Bring ideas to life by designing, developing, and optimizing jigs and fixtures for machining, welding, assembly, and other critical production processes.
  • Partner closely with cross‑functional teams to support new product launches and ensure all tooling requirements are flawlessly executed.
  • Oversee tooling fabrication, assembly, and testing—from concept through implementation.
  • Maintain clear, accurate documentation for all tooling packages.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives in machining methods, fixturing strategies, tooling/coatings, coolant applications, material considerations, and Lean manufacturing practices.
  • Manage your projects with ownership and accountability, ensuring on‑time and on‑budget delivery.
  • Support and uphold all company policies, safety standards, and security requirements.
