About The Position

Cenveo is seeking a Tooling Coordinator with the ability to work on 2nd shift for their envelope manufacturing facility in Chicago, IL. The schedule is Monday- Friday with occasional overtime / based on business needs with approval. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant work experience in tool inspection, make-ready, purchasing, customer service, and inventory in a print/production environment. The incumbent will have solid attention to detail and interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to perform in a high volume work environment with speed and accuracy. Requirements

Minimum related experience required for this position is 3-5 years.
Practical knowledge and experience of Offset/Flexo equipment/similar parts, inks, and solvents.
Minimum education required is a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Solid math, measuring, and computer skills are required
Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Industry related experience and mechanical knowledge required.
Requires ongoing coordination, communication and/or team problem solving between departments or functional areas for work production or service quality.
Willingness to work overtimes/ other shifts if needed.
Ability to be innovative and problem solve is required
Requires contact with other all Functional Areas and outside vendors.
Ability to keep up with a high-speed delivery output in a standing position for a full shift.
Mental alertness to stop equipment when jam occurs.
Ability to step up, reach overhead, and manually feed blanks into machine.
Requires regularly standing, walking, carrying, climbing, and reaching.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Manual dexterity required to grasp objects; exposure to arm and wrist fatigue.
Exposure to noise; must wear hearing protection and safety shoes.
Exposure to dust, ink, solvents, vapors and loud noise.
Requires frequent bending, standing and walking throughout shift.
Requires manual dexterity and hand -- eye coordination.
Must have good color perception. Must be able to view all colors.

Knowledge of envelope sizes and paper weights and types preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare, inspect, organize, and stage the necessary change parts and materials for all the changeovers in the plant, before the machines are shutdown to perform a changeover.
Maintains accurate inventory of parts and supplies ensuring that parts are readily available to be shipped to facilities as requested.
May assist in leading production employees to ensure a constant flow of production.
Coordinate the staging of job jacket, raw materials, and print plates.
Accurate change time tracking and documentation
Making Gummers; Mixing Inks
Maintain inventory and order change parts; Return of Used Parts & Material
Development/ Utilization of Make Ready SOP's
Maintain Tooling Condition (Sharp, Usable); Coordinate the reconditioning of Tooling
Read and understand written and verbal instructions, specifications and information
Problem-solving and decision making; consistent communication with manager/teams
Collaborate with pertinent contacts / departments to achieve goals
Inspect and monitor quality of products received from other departments or moving to another department, including packaging of materials for shipment to ensure quality standards are met
Actively support continuous improvement in processes and procedures
Promote and maintain a clean, safe and organized work area by adhering to Safety Policies
Responsible for collecting and accurately reporting necessary data
Performs physical inventories on a regular basis, to verify inventory records and correct discrepancies
Maintains hazardous chemical documentation and facilitates disposal of hazardous material
Provide coverage for other positions as needed.
