About The Position

The Tool Setter performs basic machining processes and learns more complex processes. This position focuses on new tool setter technology and RFID communications.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time bases without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of the machinability of metals, with a good mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge and ability to use machinist’s hand tools and precision measuring instruments
  • Knowledge of shop geometry and trigonometry
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak before employees in the organization
  • Good math skills, with the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blueprints
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Responsibilities

  • Lay out tools for all manual, CNC, or EDM machines to perform completely and independently specific operations as outlined in the methods and process sheets.
  • Changes, sets, and adjusts precision tools as required.
  • Loads and deletes programs in the computer.
  • Makes minor adjustments of feeds and speeds on the assigned machine.
  • Learn the machinability of metals.
  • Grinds own cutting tools and drills (other than special purpose tools).
  • Maintains specific tolerances and accurately performs dimensions.
  • Checks parts using specified gages or furnished fixtures to ensure dimensions are maintained.
  • Performs routine maintenance checks and reports improper machine function.
  • Communication of damaged tools to machinist for review.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
  • Follows all applicable safety rules and precautions.
  • Assists with related training of other employees as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
