About The Position

The Tool Setter performs basic machining processes and learns more complex processes. This position focuses on new tool setter technology and RFID communications.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
1 year of relevant manufacturing experience.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time bases without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of the machinability of metals, with a good mechanical aptitude
Knowledge and ability to use machinist’s hand tools and precision measuring instruments
Knowledge of shop geometry and trigonometry
Effective written and verbal communications skills to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak before employees in the organization
Good math skills, with the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blueprints
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Responsibilities

Lay out tools for all manual, CNC, or EDM machines to perform completely and independently specific operations as outlined in the methods and process sheets.
Changes, sets, and adjusts precision tools as required.
Loads and deletes programs in the computer.
Makes minor adjustments of feeds and speeds on the assigned machine.
Learn the machinability of metals.
Grinds own cutting tools and drills (other than special purpose tools).
Maintains specific tolerances and accurately performs dimensions.
Checks parts using specified gages or furnished fixtures to ensure dimensions are maintained.
Performs routine maintenance checks and reports improper machine function.
Communication of damaged tools to machinist for review.
Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
Follows all applicable safety rules and precautions.
Assists with related training of other employees as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
