About The Position

As a Tool Service Technician (Service Tech I), you will perform manual and maintenance tasks as well as minor repairs of specialty tools in a safe and professional manner. This role offers the potential for career growth towards higher level Tech roles within the Service Department. You will be expected to provide exceptional customer service to customers.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Basic understanding of electrical testing equipment
  • Good mechanical aptitude including basic knowledge of tools
  • Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
  • This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use
  • Report machine condition to Management
  • Load and unload equipment while complying with DOT regulations for height, width and weight
  • Clean all tools and prepare new equipment for rent or sale
  • Demonstrate tools for customers
  • Perform minor repairs of rental equipment and tools including electrical, calibration, certification, and tagging of tools for rental ready status
  • Demonstrate equipment for customers
  • Provide assistance to higher level technicians as needed
  • Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
  • Other duties assigned as needed
