Grab this opportunity to make a difference! As a new Tool Room Technician at Placon Corporation, you can expect an exciting and engaging work environment where every day presents unique challenges. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include maintaining and repairing tools and equipment essential for our manufacturing processes. You will work closely with engineers and production teams to troubleshoot issues, ensuring efficient operations and quality output. Collaboration is key; you'll participate in team meetings to brainstorm innovative solutions and share insights. Be prepared to adapt and learn quickly, as you’ll be working with various machinery and technologies. Your schedule will be Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (First Shift), with potential for occasional overtime as projects demand. This structure provides a steady routine while allowing for the flexibility to address any urgent needs in our fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, gauges, micrometers, and other inspection instruments.
  • Experience with machine shop equipment, including hoists, forklifts, and drills.
  • Ability to perform tool assembly, disassembly, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
  • Solid grasp of basic shop math and record-keeping practices, like managing tool logs and ensuring ISO QSP compliance.
  • Familiarity with MRP or tool-tracking database systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication in English.
  • Ability to work through differing perspectives and resolve conflict in a respectful and professional manner consistent with The Placon Way.
  • Authorization to work in the country in which the role is based.
