Tool Room Maintenance Technician

About The Position
Oversees the daily operation of the Tool Room and Stockroom, providing support to Facilities Management departments including Maintenance, Mechanical Trades, Grounds, Custodial, Events, Moves, and Garage Operations. Responsible for inventory management, purchasing, tool and key control, equipment maintenance, campus signage production, shipping and receiving support.
Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Three or more years of related inventory, warehouse, facilities, maintenance, or operations experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and inventory tracking systems
- Knowledge of tools, equipment maintenance, inventory management, purchasing, and workplace safety practices.
- Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
Nice To Haves
- trade school, vocational training, or associate degree preferred
- experience with Banner preferred
Responsibilities
- Manage purchasing, inventory, and stockroom operations, including ordering materials, equipment, and services.
- Maintain and distribute tools, supplies, keys, personal protective equipment (PPE), and related records.
- Repair and maintain tools and small equipment.
- Produce campus signage, including ADA-compliant Braille and vinyl signs, using computerized sign-making equipment.
- Support shipping, receiving, deliveries, and departmental logistics functions.
- Promote workplace safety, maintain organized work areas, and assist Facilities teams on special projects and departmental initiatives.
