In our Tool Room, we don’t just fix things — we craft the custom tools and dies that power our entire production floor. We provide training and mentorship for the right candidate.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing, machining, or tool room environment
  • Confidence with machine tools — whether manual or CNC
  • Comfortable using precision measuring instruments and basic shop math
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
  • Experience with or interest in tool steels and heat treatment processes
  • You love working with your hands, and you care about doing quality work
  • Team-first attitude — but able to work independently with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Formal machinist or toolmaking training
  • CNC programming or setup experience
  • Die making or stamping tooling experience
  • Military or vocational background in mechanics or fabrication

Responsibilities

  • Sharpen and rework die sections, punches, and cut-off tools with precision
  • Fabricate or repair custom tooling and fixtures for our springmaking operations
  • Use a wide range of machines: mills, grinders, lathes, band saws, CNC equipment
  • Interpret blueprints and part drawings for complex tooling components
  • Measure with precision using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and comparators
  • Work with tool steels like O-1, A-2, and D-2 — and apply proper heat treatment
  • Torch work, welding, and hands-on problem-solving when things don’t go as planned
  • Collaborate with engineers, production leads, and fellow tradespeople
