About The Position

Quinn Company, a top-performing Caterpillar dealership with over 100 years of excellence, is hiring a Tool Room Attendant in Riverside, California. This role supports the Service Department by maintaining shop tools, managing supplies, assisting technicians, ensuring facility compliance, and serving as the main contact for vendors and suppliers. The company, founded in 1919, sells, services, and rents construction, agricultural, and material-handling equipment, as well as diesel and natural gas engines, blending local agility with the global strength and support of a Fortune 50 company.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and follow compliance procedures
  • Comfortable working with vendors and supporting shop personnel
  • Strong communication and customer‑service skills

  • Basic mechanical aptitude helpful but not required

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Daily Inventory: Complete daily shop inventory and inspection reports with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Perform Tool Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance on tools and tool groups within the tool room.
  • Vendor Coordination: Serve as the primary contact for maintenance and supplier vendors, including invoice administration and new vendor setup.
  • Verify Deliveries: Reconcile vendor deliveries to ensure accurate receipt and correct billing.
  • Manage Environmental Compliance: Record, track, and maintain environmental inspection documentation.
  • Support Preventative Maintenance: Coordinate PM services for shop cranes, steamers, air compressors, and related equipment.
  • Handle Warranty & Core Parts: Record warranty/core parts, ship parts to Caterpillar for credit, and dispose of expired warranty items.
  • Distribute Materials: Deliver tools, equipment, and supplies to designated shop locations.
  • Assist with Hazmat Compliance: Address oily debris, manage hazmat waste bins, and maintain wash rack and sandblast areas.
  • Support Technicians: Assist qualified technicians with basic repair tasks as needed.
