About The Position
Leonhardt Manufacturing is looking for a dependable, hands-on individual to assist in our Tool Room with general machining, tooling, and shop support activities. This is a part-time position and may be a good fit for someone currently enrolled in a technical or machining program who is looking to gain additional hands-on manufacturing experience.
Requirements
- Interest in machining, manufacturing, maintenance, or skilled trades
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power tools
- Ability to read a tape measure and use basic measuring equipment
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions
- Dependable with good attendance
- Ability to work safely and independently
Nice To Haves
- Previous machining or shop experience is helpful but not required
- Technical school coursework in machining, manufacturing, welding, maintenance, or a related field is a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist Tool Room personnel with general machining and tooling work
- Operate basic manual machining equipment under appropriate supervision
- Assist with drilling, cutting, grinding, deburring, and other general machining operations
- Help fabricate, modify, and repair fixtures, tooling, and miscellaneous shop components
- Measure parts using basic inspection and measuring tools
- Assist with preventative maintenance and minor repairs on tooling and equipment
- Organize tooling, materials, and supplies within the Tool Room
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Help retrieve, move, and return tooling and materials as needed
- Follow company safety procedures and proper equipment operating practices
- Perform other Tool Room and manufacturing support duties as assigned
