About The Position

Hohl Industrial Services, Inc. is looking for a dependable, organized, hands-on Tool Room Assistant to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with tools and equipment, keeping things organized, and supporting field crews by making sure they have the right tools when they need them. The Tool Room Assistant plays an important role in maintaining our tool inventory-from preparing tools for field projects and receiving them back, to inspecting, cleaning, repairing, and returning equipment to inventory.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with tools and/or inventory.
  • Clean New York State driver's license.
  • General knowledge of tool safety.
  • General knowledge of warehousing and inventory practices.
  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, suppliers, customers, union personnel, and others.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to use common computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally between warehouses, headquarters, and project sites.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities such as lifting, stretching, climbing, and crawling.

Responsibilities

  • Pull tools and equipment for field jobs and package them for delivery.
  • Accurately record tools assigned to field personnel and projects.
  • Receive tools returned from the field, unload them, and return them to inventory.
  • Record returned tools, quantities, and condition.
  • Inspect, clean, and perform basic repairs on tools and equipment as needed.
  • Perform small tool repairs.
  • Make small truck deliveries to field projects as required.
  • Help maintain an organized and accurate tool room and inventory.
  • Travel locally between warehouses, headquarters, and project sites as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
