About The Position

MSI Mold Builders is hiring a full-time Tool Maker in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to create and make tooling that matches part drawings. The Tool Maker supports the assembly team and works collaboratively on mold-making projects. The role involves operating manufacturing equipment, using hand, electronic, and pneumatic tools, reading blueprints, and applying knowledge of mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies. The position also coordinates with assembly team members and includes attending company meetings. The schedule is second shift, which receives a 10% off-shift premium. Wages are competitive and depend on experience.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of industry experience.
• Journeyman toolmaker education.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to perform the physical demands of the position.

Responsibilities

• Create and make tooling to match part drawings.
• Operate a surface grinder, manual mill, drill press, and spotting press.

• Read blueprints to complete mold-making projects accurately and efficiently.
• Coordinate with assembly team members and support the assembly team.
• Attend company meetings.
