About The Position

The Tool & Die Maker is responsible for building, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting tooling, dies, jogs, fixtures, and other precision components used in the steel manufacturing process. This role ensures tooling operates efficiently to support production requirements, maintain product quality, and minimize downtime.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or GED, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build, repair, and maintain dies, molds, jogs, fixtures, and tooling used in steel manufacturing operations
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD files to fabricate tooling components.
  • Troubleshoot tooling issues and perform repairs to minimize production downtime.
  • Set up and operate manual and CNC machining equipment such as mills, lathes, grinders, and drill presses.
  • Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring instruments.
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to improve tooling performance and manufacturing processes.
  • Modify existing tooling to improve efficiency, product quality, or safety.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on dies and tooling to extend life and maintain reliability.
  • Ensure tooling meets required tolerances and quality standards.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas while following all safety procedures and policies.
  • Document repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
