About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Tool Maker (Milling) to support precision aerospace manufacturing in a high-performance, tight-tolerance production environment in Connecticut. If you thrive in hands-on toolroom work, precision milling, and building mission-critical tooling used in aerospace production, this is a role where your craftsmanship directly impacts quality, safety, and performance. This is not repetitive production work. You’ll be part of a true toolroom environment, where no two jobs are the same. Your work directly supports aerospace programs requiring extreme accuracy, repeatability, and craftsmanship.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in tool making, precision machining, or tool & die environments
  • Strong background in manual milling and/or CNC milling machines
  • Ability to read and interpret complex prints and GD&T
  • Experience working with tight tolerances and aerospace-grade materials
  • Skilled in precision measuring tools (micrometers, indicators, height gauges, etc.)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace or AS9100 environment experience
  • Jig grinding, surface grinding, or EDM exposure
  • Programming or setup experience on CNC mills (Bridgeport, VMC, ProtoTrak, Hurco, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Build, modify, and repair precision jigs, fixtures, gauges, and production tooling
  • Perform complex manual and CNC milling setups to tight aerospace tolerances
  • Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings
  • Work closely with engineering and quality teams to solve tooling and machining challenges
  • Use precision inspection tools to verify dimensions and ensure compliance
  • Support continuous improvement in tooling design, manufacturability, and reliability

Benefits

  • Competitive pay based on experience + shift premium (where applicable)
  • Full benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k)
  • Paid time off + holidays
  • Stable, long-term aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Opportunity to work on high-precision, flight-critical components
