About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining high-quality tooling through preventative maintenance, minor repair, and visual evaluation. The technician will work with minimal supervision, collaborate with engineers, and perform hands-on repairs to minimize downtime.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
5 plus years of hands-on experience in a tool room involving plastic injection mold repair or mold maintenance.
3 plus years of experience using hand-operated tool room equipment.
Knowledge and understanding of mold and die components and their respective characteristics.
Ability to read and understand tooling work orders.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
Must be eligible to work in the USA.

Nice To Haves

Prototype tool making experience.
Plastic injection processing experience.
Trade school or some college.

Responsibilities

Educate and share ideals with the team.
Read and understand tooling work orders and follow instructions.
Disassemble and assemble molds safely and efficiently.
Clean molds and assist Maintenance Technicians.
Work to a schedule and meet deadlines.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Utilize measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
Assist in monitoring processes to maintain component inventory.
Reduce machine downtime.
Maintain and clean all tools and equipment, including tool room machinery.
Assist in maintaining maintenance records on the company computer system.
Troubleshoot and repair tool issues with Process Engineers.
Work on the production floor to correct tool issues in presses to minimize downtime.
Operate a Surface grinder within a + or - .0002 tolerance.
Operate a Bridgeport/Lathe within a + or - .001 tolerance.
Run an EDM machine.
Polish and bench details.
Fit new details and spot them in.
Troubleshoot and repair issues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
