About The Position

The Tool & Die Repair position uses advanced technical knowledge to safely troubleshoot and repair die molds while promoting quality standards. The role works with Operations to keep molds production-ready, performs preventive maintenance to reduce in-press failures and production interruptions, and diagnoses equipment problems to determine appropriate corrective action. The position also includes measuring and checking molds, fixtures, and jigs; welding and polishing as needed; improving tools and extending their service life; and recording work activity and work orders in SAP.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent education and experience.
At least 1 year of direct experience.
Ability to operate machinery, including welding equipment, to manufacture tooling used in die maintenance and repair.
Basic blueprint-reading skills.
Basic fabrication skills.
Good teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Computer skills, including proficiency with Windows-based software.
Fluency in English and the primary language used in the area of responsibility and/or location.
Forklift certification required.

Nice To Haves

Experience with TIG welding on H13 tool steel.

Responsibilities

Prepare and/or repair molds with Operations to ensure they are production-ready.
Perform mold preventive maintenance in coordination with production scheduling to minimize in-press failures and interruptions to production runs.
Use gauges, calipers, and similar tools to check the quality of molds, fixtures, and jigs.
Accurately log in/operation time and time out for each job.
Assist and communicate with key personnel regarding the status of mold repairs.
Perform welding and polishing as needed.
Analyze and alter different types of tools to improve their function and extend tool life.
Diagnose equipment problems and take appropriate corrective action.
Enter work orders into SAP.
Perform other duties as assigned.
