About The Position

BlueScope is seeking a Maintenance Technician – Tool & Die Maker for their 2nd shift. This role is responsible for fabricating, repairing, and maintaining dies, tooling, and production equipment to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support safe, efficient operations in a manufacturing environment. Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Experience reading blueprints and technical drawings
Experience using precision measuring tools
Hands-on experience with machining equipment
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
Detail-oriented with focus on quality and precision
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Commitment to safety and continuous improvement

Nice To Haves

Technical training or certification in Tool & Die, Machining, or Maintenance preferred
Industrial maintenance experience preferred

Responsibilities

Fabricate, repair, and modify dies, jigs, fixtures, and tooling
Set up and operate machining equipment (lathe, mill, grinder, drill)
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Inspect components using precision measuring tools
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment
Troubleshoot mechanical and tooling issues to support uptime
Complete work orders and document maintenance activities
Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams
Follow all safety policies including LOTO procedures
Actively participates in continuous improvement and corrective action activities
Perform housekeeping, 5-S, and other duties as assigned
