About The Position

Baker Hughes is seeking a skilled Tool & Die Maker to join their manufacturing team. This role involves fabricating and repairing precision tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures to support production, tooling development, and manufacturing efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machining, fabrication, and problem-solving in a hands-on manufacturing environment, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety are maintained.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of experience in a tool room with a related technical certificate.
  • 5+ years of tool room experience without a related technical certificate.
  • Experience fabricating, modifying, and repairing tooling in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Intermediate math and reading skills.
  • Working knowledge of lathes, mills, and other industrial equipment used in the machine shop.
  • Ability to write and modify CNC programs.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Willingness and ability to follow all manufacturing procedures and company policies.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Concern for quality, accuracy, and safety.
  • Ability to stay on task and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well with peers, supervisors, executive management, vendors, representatives, and visitors when called upon.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Sufficient motor skills to successfully and safely use required tools and machinery.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for the majority of a scheduled shift, typically 8–10 hours per day, though possibly longer when overtime is required.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and safety shoes.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, including alternate shifts and weekends, as required by business needs.
  • Current work authorization in the country of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate in CIMM or a related industrial technology discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricating and repairing tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures in accordance with company manufacturing procedures and safety policies.
  • Utilizing machining equipment, technical drawings, and engineering specifications to produce precision tooling that supports manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborating with production and engineering teams to develop prototype components, improve tooling capabilities, and ensure manufacturing processes remain safe, efficient, and reliable.
  • Determining materials and machines needed to fabricate parts according to specifications.
  • Computing dimensions, planning layouts, and determining assembly methods and sequences of operations for fabrication activities.
  • Measuring, marking, and scribing metal stock for machining.
  • Setting up and operating required machines to successfully and safely fabricate components.
  • Verifying that fabricated parts conform to specifications and quality standards.
  • Developing prototype parts and tooling solutions when required.
  • Recording tooling modifications and maintaining tooling history documentation.
  • Polishing and refinishing parts as needed.
  • Complying with company productivity, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Operating forklifts when required to support manufacturing activities.
  • Performing additional duties based on workload and business requirements.
